The Eighth April Spring People's Art Festival is to be held in the capital Pyongyang on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the greatest national holiday when the great leader Kim Il Sung was born.
The festival is a grand political art festival in praise of the great man representing the ideological feelings of the entire Korean people to add eternal glory to the sacred revolutionary life and immortal exploits of Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea and eternal father of the people, and carry forward his cause generation after generation.
It will be divided into professional and non-professional categories and there will also be held a magic festival, involving artistes of art troupes and art propaganda squads, members of mobile art agitation teams and art circle members of institutions, factories and farms.
The festival will be held at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the Ponghwa Art Theatre and other theatres and houses of culture in the capital city between April 12 and 18.
