The Democratic People's Republic of Korea directs great efforts to developing the secondary general education.
A tree with strong roots can have healthy fruits. Likewise, only when we strengthen the secondary general education giving basic knowledge to the students, is it possible to train good personnel.
Deeply seeing through the position and mission of the secondary education, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is making painstaking efforts to develop it.
He visited a middle school in January Juche 101(2012). Looking round a number of lecture rooms and laboratories in detail for a long time, he importantly stressed the need to improve the quality of teaching of basic subjects including physics, chemistry and mathematics.
And in June that year, he made public the work "On Improving andStrengthening the Secondary General Education", giving clear answers to the problems arising in developing the secondary general education.
In the work, he said the secondary general education plays a decisive role in the intellectual development of the children and the formation of their personality and world outlook and underscored the need to develop the teaching methods in the way of fostering their creative and cognitive ability.
Afterwards, he saw that the 13th National Conference of Educational Workers and the 14th National Conference of Teachers were convened to bring about a fundamental change in the educational work.
In those days he sent the educators his works including those titled "Let Us Glorify Ours as a Country of Education and a Talents Power by Bringing about a Revolutionary Change in Education in the New Century" and "Teachers Should Perform Their Duty as Career Revolutionaries in Implementing the Party's Policy on Bringing about a Revolutionary Change in Education". Those works were immortal programmes which brightly illuminated the road of the educational development.
Whenever opportunities permitted, Kim Jong Un said it is a consistent policy of the DPRK government to attach importance to education and put efforts into its development and earnestly called for improving the teaching contents and methods more rationally.
It is his noble intention to bring up the rising generations as good personnel receiving good education under the best system and conditions and thus make ours a country with a lot of talents.
