The National Headquarters for Coping with the Emergency Disaster Crises in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea concentrates all its efforts to coping with the disastrous abnormal climate caused by El Nino this year.
Commanding groups for coping with the emergency disaster crises involving efficient officials have been organized at the ministries, national agencies, provinces, cities, counties, industrial establishments and other units and there was established an integral system of working under the unified command of the state.
They awaken the masses so that they can take perfect measures to prevent disasters with high consciousness of crises. They also do an efficient work to transmit meteorological information in real time in contact with the units concerned.
Deep attention is paid to securing necessary materials and means for mobilization and taking measures in advance at all units lest the people should feel any inconveniences in case of outbreak of disasters.
Active efforts are made to repair irrigation structures, dredge rivers and perfect the drainage system with main stress on keeping the farmland from being inundated and buried by downpour, flood and typhoon and minimizing crop damage.
