The Korean Central News Agency issued a commentary under the title "Dangerous Military Attempt to Ignite the Fuse of Nuclear War at Any Cost."
The commentary said.
The war gamble of the United States and the south Korean puppet ruffians has exceeded another dangerous level of aggravated tension. The enemy started the "combined joint firepower annihilation drill," the largest ever in scale, in the area near the military demarcation line on the 25th.
The recent drill to be staged five times until June 15th is a very dangerous war gamble. More than 2,500-strong troops of 71 units of the combined forces and over 610 hardware of the ground and air forces including tanks, armored vehicles, fighters and drones were involved in the first drill alone. It was frantically staged in the way of "striking artillery units and commanding and supporting facilities of the north" and "watching and attacking the key targets of the north by air and artillery means" in the area of the military demarcation line.
The United States and the south Korean war fanatics have intensified military threat and blackmail and mastered the war method against the DPRK through the "combined joint firepower annihilation drill." This drill has been staged 11 times since June 1977 up to now according to the war scenario to "annihilate" the DPRK by mobilizing latest weapons of the ground, naval and air forces of the United States and the south Korean puppets in case a war breaks out on the Korean peninsula.
What cannot be overlooked is that another military action simulating a nuclear war is staged along with the recent combined exercise.
The combined air drill of the US Seventh Air Force and the south Korean air force is now conducted in the sky of south Korea and the "joint sea intercepting exercise" is to be staged together with Japan and other followers in the sea around the Jeju Island from May 30th. The US Defense Department announced that much more strategic assets including "F--22" and "F--35" fighters and "B--1" strategic bomber would be deployed in the area of south Korea on the day of exercise.
The present situation in which the "combined joint firepower annihilation drill" and other military actions are simultaneously conducted clearly shows the sinister intention of the enemy to invade the DPRK by mobilizing strategic assets in the air, land and sea at any moment.
The war scenario aimed at the DPRK has already entered the stage of implementation, beyond the stage of exercise, the commentary added.
