The working circles launched a struggle demanding the resignation of traitor Yoon Suk Yeol across south Korea all at once on May the 31st.

More than 35,000 workers of the organizations under the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions in all parts of south Korea including Seoul, Taejon and South Chungchong Province took part in the struggle.

14 industrial unions including the Construction Workers' Union and the Metal Workers' Union under the Confederation held advance meetings in different places of Seoul, declared the struggle for punishing traitor Yoon Suk Yeol and marched to the meeting place.

The fascist police checked the demonstration, creating a  repressive atmosphere.

After the demonstration, a meeting of resolution was held in and around Sejong Avenue with the participation of over 20,000 workers, demanding the resignation of the traitor and a stop to pressure on workers.

The Chairman of the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions denounced that traitor Yoon Suk Yeol is an out-and-out wicked man who never falls behind others in comparison with violence, suppression and dictatorship of Chun Doo Hwan, the pro-business policy against workers of Lee Myung Bak and incompetency, corruption and self-complacence of Park Geun Hye and the Chairman of the Metal Workers' Union declared the struggle for the resignation of the traitor.

Then, the speakers condemned Yoon Suk Yeol saying that he made a trip to sell south Korea through submission and diplomacy of reckless remarks and now he is threatening even the health and security of the people with the nuclear contaminated water of Hukushima Nuclear Power Station of Japan.

They stressed: Today we went on the general strike against the tyrannical rule of Yoon Suk Yeol "regime". Our struggle is a legitimate self-defence against the violence which killed martyr Yang Hoe Dong and is inflicted upon the workers. Our strike is a righteous practice and just struggle for the improvement of political, economic, social and cultural status of workers.

They said: The struggle of the trade unions for realizing the desire of martyr Yang Hoe Dong and defending the rights to existence of workers and people will go on until the end of Yoon Suk Yeol. If today's struggle of metal workers become a spark spreading into wild fire, we can surely put an end to Yoon Suk Yeol. We will denounce in one voice the retrogressive revision of labour, suppression of trade unions, dictatorship of prosecution, creation of suppression by public security and pro-capital junket of Yoon Suk Yeol "regime" and stand in the van of the struggle for the resignation of the traitor.

The participants also held a ceremony of tearing up a document certifying the Yoon Suk Yeol's election as "president".

It was scheduled to open a candlelight meeting cherishing the memory of martyr Yang Hoe Dong under the sponsorship of the "Joint Action of Struggle of Workers', Civic, Public and Religious Organizations for Martyr Yang Hoe Dong" in the evening of that day, but the fascist police mobilized more than 80 mobile squads and forcibly dispersed it.

The participants opposed stoutly against the suppression of the fascist policemen.

Under the titles including "Resignation of Yoon Suk Yeol, shout of 35,000 Workers of the South Korean Confederation of Trade Unions ... Police trying to make the meeting illegal", "We can not live under the same sky!" and "Let's terminate Yoon Suk Yeol regime", the mass media reported that "the working circles defended May 31 general strike and opened up a prelude to the struggle for the resignation of Yoon Suk Yeol regime", "though they were deprived of their tents, the candlelight of cherishing memory further spread out" and "citizens watching the situation took part in the meeting and its venue is packed with people."
