The fishery sector across the country is making positive efforts to protect and increase fish resources.
The Jikha Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm made a new hatching facility and released hundreds of thousands of its fry in rivers and streams by introducing an advanced fish farming technique.
The Komalsan Offshore Atlantic Salmon Farm produced over 1.3 million fry of such fishes as walleye pollack and flatfish by introducing advanced breeding methods suited to their biological characters and growth stage.
The Yanghwa Fishery Station released some 3.5 million fry in the sea by creating conditions favourable for growth like ensuring of appropriate temperature and supply of oxygen in the breeding ground.
The Hongwon and Songdowon fishery stations also produced large numbers of young cod and flatfish according to fry production plans made in keeping with the fish species and stage.
This year, the fishing sector in different parts of the country stocked tens of millions of fries.
