Homeless Children

Recent increase in the number of homeless children in capitalist countries – the self-proclaimed “advanced states of human rights” – is becoming the cause for serious social concern.

According to the report published in the newspaper Figaro by UNICEF France and Solidarity Action Union, more than two thousand children in France are now in appalling conditions, sleeping on the streets.

They lamented that it hit an all-time high since this indicator was used five years ago, given that it does not include the children living in slums or illegal settlements and those without primary caregivers.

The tragedy is that those homeless kids themselves have no idea where to go tomorrow or the day after.

Such miserable plight in which the children suffer without homes is not simply found in France.

According to the survey by London Councils, the number of London citizens living in temporary settlements as of November 2022 comes to 166,000 including more than 81,000 children.

The number of homeless kids is on the steady increase in London; one out of twenty-three students has no home and one in each class lives in miserable conditions without anyone to turn to.

Now the governments of these countries bustle about to pool financial resources for immediate solution of the accommodation issue, or to include government budget for housing in the next fiscal year. However, such a reality is inevitable in capitalist societies where the interests and well-being of the privileged minority are given precedence over the sufferings of the working majority and where the continuous price hike and the serious housing issue cannot be helped.

It is indeed doubtful whether the “government support” would eliminate all social evils and economic crisis and improve the living conditions of the homeless kids in the systematically ailing society of capitalism, when the “support” is like watering the fields after a dry spell.

The reality clearly shows that the capitalist society is incapable of satisfying even the basic demands for existence of those children living below poverty line, let alone their dreams or hopes, for it is a society rampant with such evils as exploitation of man by man and social inequality, and where the rich get ever richer and the poor get ever poorer.

In our socialist society, however, the words like “homeless children” or “young street wanderers” cannot be heard at all thanks to the parental love of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who gives a top priority to the destiny and happiness of the younger generation in the implementation of the state and Party policies, and provides our children with everything and at the top level.

Today, our children are enjoying happy lives free from any cares or worries as respected Comrade Kim Jong Un implements the noble policy of love for posterity. He spares nothing for the children and would even pick a star from the sky should they so desire.

Children are supplied by the state each year with school uniforms and stationery such as “Sonamu”(pine-tree) schoolbags, and“Mindullae”(dandelion) notebooks, textbooks and pencils.  Such facilities as schoolchildren’s palaces, children’s union camps, institutions for children without primary caregivers and Okryu Children’s Hospital have been built across the country, giving them excellent living conditions and educational environment, so that they grow up healthy, full of vitality and vigor, into the future of the country.

The bright and promising future of Korean children is guaranteed by the warm love of respected father Marshal Kim Jong Un , who takes on the responsibility for our children and cares for their both present and future, and also by the socialist system where genuine love for human beings forms the foundation for social relationship.
