Scientific researches are gaining momentum across the country to contribute to strengthening the independence of the national economy.
Scientists at the Ferrous Metal Institute under the State Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with relevant units this year, too, manufactured and introduced hundreds of thermal turbine blades of various sizes into several thermal power stations and laid a scientific and technological foundation for domestic production of feed pump axis of thermal power turbine generator.
They also pooled efforts with the technical team of the Chollima Steel Complex to develop a continuous charging technique for putting production of Juche-based iron on a normal footing while lowering the norm of consumption per unit in production.
Scientists at the Nano-engineering Branch and the Automation Institute made achievements in establishing the Korean-style crystal mirabilite production line and normalizing its operation.
Meanwhile, Kim Chaek University of Technology strives to solve sci-tech problems arising in tens of projects for key industrial sectors.
Scientists at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Technology and the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology of the university went to the Ryongsong Machine Complex to provide a scientific and technological guarantee for raising the accuracy of processing various parts and machine elements arising in the manufacture of important custom-built equipment and further shortening their processing time.
They, in close cooperation with field technicians, ensured the manufacture of a hundred and tens of complicated parts in a short span of time by introducing rational casting methods.
They also established a new heat treatment line conducive to greatly improving the quality indices of machine elements in the existing production line.
Scientists at the Academy of Coal-Mining Science developed highly-efficient drilling machines conducive to mechanizing tunnelling, and are making efforts to introduce a technique for ensuring tunnel concretizing at a higher level.
Scientists and technicians at the Academy of Light Industry and other scientific research institutes in different sectors of the national economy are redoubling their efforts to revitalize production.
