Recently, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry made a statement on China’s firm stand against U.S. President Joe Biden’s report presented at Congress, which labelled the country as a “major source of drugs”.
The spokesperson said as follows:
This “recognition” of the U.S. is a smear campaign against China out of pure evil intentions with no grounds in actual fact. China strongly rejects this and has lodged a strong protest against the U.S.
China’s drug prohibition sector has established a dynamic monitoring and management system for all processes of easy drug-manufacturing chemical products.
Without a doubt, China is a model country in world narcotics control. And it is internationally recognized as a nation with the strictest drug prohibition policy that is most thoroughly enforced.
On the other hand, the U.S. is a country that makes up less than 5% of the world population but consumes 80% of the world’s opium variety of drugs. It is a black hole in global drug banning activities, the source of all confusion and a major drug consumer. It has hence no right to comment on China’s drug control efforts.
The main cause of the U.S.’ drug abuse is its own incapacity and mismanagement. This problem can only be rooted out by decreasing domestic demand.
The spokesperson concluded by strongly demanding the U.S. to cease all slandering against China.
