Spokesman for the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Israel’s Strike on Palestinian Hospital

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA on October 26 over Israel’s recent bombing of a hospital in Palestine that claimed many lives and caused a great tragedy:

Israel bombed a public health facility which is to be protected as a top priority not only in peacetime but also wartime under international law. This is an unimaginable hideous war crime against humanity.

What cannot be overlooked is that Israel’s such criminal act was openly committed under the undisguised patronage of the U.S.

The U.S. delivered huge amounts of munitions to Israel and dispatched two carrier strike groups to the waters off the Middle East, thus giving Israel the green light to butcher Palestinians without any worries.

Immediately after the bombing of the hospital by Israel, the U.S. covered such a crime with absurd sophism that the incident seemed to have been committed by other forces rather than Israel. This shows that the U.S. is an accomplice who connived at and abetted Israel’s massacre.

The U.S. arrogantly vetoed a UNSC resolution on allowing humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip, for the mere reason that the “right to self-defence” of Israel was not mentioned. This reveals the U.S. intention that they do not care about the lives of thousands of Palestinians as long as Israel faithfully carries out its Middle East policy.

The U.S., wrecker of global peace and strangler of justice, can never shirk its responsibilities for having connived at and abetted Israel’s hideous war crime of ruthlessly killing Palestinians.
