Women constitute a powerful force for social development. The future of families, society and the country is unthinkable apart from women’s role.
As society develops and becomes more civilized, women will have higher status and play a more active role. However, this does not happen by itself.
In actuality, many countries advocate gender equality, but discrimination and maltreatment against women are still in sight worldwide.
Gender equality cannot be ensured by words. It can be achieved when it’s set as a major policy and implemented in practice.
Our country has a tradition of holding women in high regard under the leadership of the great leaders and the great Party, and they are respected as flowers of country, society, and life.
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un attaches weighty significance to the women’s status and role in the struggle for a victorious advance of the revolution and the country’s prosperity and set forth the idea and policies on the women’s movement of the new era, thus guiding the women across the country to live and work as patriots who are devoted to the building of a socialist power.

Our women who take pride in genuine patriotism will fully demonstrate the mettle of Korean women on the new path towards a brighter future of socialism and the national prosperity.
