The light industry goods exhibition “Light Industry Development-2023” was held at the Three-Revolution Exhibition House in the capital city of Pyongyang.
According to an official of the Ministry of Light Industry, the exhibition brought together hundreds of units from across the country. On display there were more than 12 000 pieces of products in over 670 kinds ranging from clothing, footwear, etc. to those reflecting the detailed elements of people’s living.
The section displaying silk products was unusually crowded with visitors.
“Most eye-catching were dozens of silk products in different kinds such as Yaksan and Kuryong silks from the Nyongbyon Silk Mill, neckerchiefs made of natural silk from the Anju Silk Mill, house dresses from the Korea Silk Trading Company and carpets and neckties newly developed by a silk products company,” said an official of the Bureau of Sericulture and Silk Industry.
Among all other exhibits, silk quilts presented by the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill were quite popular among visitors.
On display at the smart phone booths on the first floor of the exhibition venue were tens of kinds of smart phones named “Sonamu (pine)”, “Jindallae (azalea)”, “Arirang” and others with superior functions as well as nice external forms, pleasing people.
A researcher of the Jindallae Mobile Phone Factory said that the level of the production of smart phone, a synthesis of information technology, is remarkably increasing in the country.
The booth of the Samilpho Specialities Factory was also in the spotlight.
More than 110 pieces of new products in dozens of kinds from the factory were made with natural plant materials available everywhere in the country.
A woman living in Phyongchon District, Pyongyang, said she missed her native village as she saw arrowroot starch noodles on display.
The producers of the exhibits actively shared experience with each other during the exhibition.
The exhibition with a large number of typical excellent goods produced in the country on display enabled the people to know intuitively about the features, level and future of the light industry of the country which has been developed for the past ten-odd years and instilled in them attachment to, expectation of and confidence in their light industry goods.
