The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, a large metallurgical base in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, is producing more iron and steel by improving operational techniques of oxygen-blast furnace.
According to information available, the output of molten iron has increased steadily every year since the construction of oxygen-blast furnace, the first of its kind in the country. At present, the production of pig iron and rolled steel doubles as against the time of its inauguration.
The complex is now increasing the molten iron output per charge and the number of charges per day by further perfecting its production system technically and introducing rational technical innovations for ensuring its regular operation.
Besides, it is raising the output of ingot and rolled steel by improving the operation rate of oxygen plant, gas generator and oxygen converter.
