Recently, African countries are seeking ever-closer cooperation to bring about economic development of the African continent.
A shining example is that Ethiopia and Kenya lately have agreed to strengthen cooperation in energy and aviation sectors, and Namibia and Angola have decided to cooperate in the fields of petroleum, gas, agriculture and water.
Moreover, Mozambique and Algeria signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation in energy field in February.
Prior to this, the 37 th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in January where African countries discussed as a major agenda the issue of implementing the agreement on African Continental Free Trade Area aiming to promote trade among African countries.
The above facts show that the countries on the African continent, which was called a “continent of darkness” as a supply base of raw materials and fuel to developed countries, is steadily expanding and strengthening economic cooperation to achieve common prosperity by their concerted efforts.
Nothing is impossible if the countries on the African continent pool their efforts, which have the tradition of struggling for regaining independence and historical experiences of working together for unity, and possess inexhaustible resources and wealth.
The steady efforts by the African people to abolish the old and unjust international order established by the U.S. and the West and to achieve independent progress and development of the African continent by united strength will certainly bring about a good result.
