There are many bases for cultural and leisure activities of the people in all parts of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Among them is the Masikryong Ski Resort crowded with people in winter.
It is in the area with high altitude and heavy annual precipitation under the influence of the oceanic climate of the east coast of Korea.
It covers a total area of more than 1,400 hectares and has 10 ski runs.
The difference of vertical height is hundreds of metres from the peak where ski runs begin to the finish line in the valley.
The large buildings including hotel, service centres and lodgings cover a total floor space of over 50,000 square metres. And there are more than 30 auxiliary buildings and over 40 facilities of different kinds.
The ski resort opened on December 31, Juche 102(2013) on the occasion of the New Year 2014.
It was associated with the devoted efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who worked heart and soul for the cultural and emotional life of the people.
His love for the people continued even after its opening.
Kim Jong Un gave field guidance to the Masikryong Ski Resort again in October Juche 104(2015).
Looking round different places, he said to the accompanying officials that clocks should be installed on the outer walls of the buildings in the ski resort.
The officials were confused because clocks had already been installed in various spots of the buildings and resting places.
Kim Jong Un told them that the skiers might find it inconvenient to see their wrist watch with their ski suit and gloves on and therefore, clocks should be installed not only in the buildings but also in some sections along the ski runs.
It was his idea that the people should not feel any inconveniences during their pleasant rest.
That was how different kinds of clocks were newly installed in various places of the Masikryong Ski Resort including buildings and ski runs.
