A national symposium on epidemic prevention and public health took place at the Sci-Tech Complex in the capital city of Pyongyang on April 9 and 10.
Present there were officials, researchers, teachers, postgraduates and others in the epidemic prevention and public health sectors.
Minister of Public Health Jong Mu Rim, chairman of the Central Committee of the Medical Association of Korea, made an address.
He noted that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set it as an eternal state policy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to steadily develop the public health service and has made ceaseless, devoted efforts for the people’s good health and happiness.
He called for all officials and researchers in the epidemic prevention and public health sectors to reliably guarantee the lives and health of people with the latest medical sci-tech achievements and thus make a positive contribution to giving full play to the advantages of the socialist public health system of the DPRK.
The symposium, divided into six panels including the sanitary and ant-epidemic work, Koryo medicine and surgery, heard presentations and speeches on the successes which have been proved through experimental and clinical studies in the epidemic prevention and public health sectors.
