Our factory is not so big, but it is well known across the country for the variety of its products and their quality.
Such reality always reminds me of the request the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made during his visit to our factory one July day in Juche 107 (2018).
Making the rounds of the factory, he stressed the need to make strenuous efforts to improve the quality of products while lending an ear to the liking, tastes and feedback from consumers.
The factory’s growing popularity and high demand for its products tell that it fares well, he said. He abruptly asked me how the factory could be evaluated compared to other provincial counterparts.
With ease, I told him that I would like to compete with the Kumkhop General Foodstuff Factory for Sportspeople and the Sonhung Foodstuff Factory in the capital city of Pyongyang.
Upon my reply, he laughed a hearty laugh and said encouragingly that my determination to vie with those centrally-controlled foodstuff producers is laudable and it is music to his ears.
The quality of the products of a provincial foodstuff factory shouldn’t be thought to be necessarily inferior to that of the products made by a centrally-controlled factory, he said, adding the quality of all foodstuffs put on the dining table of the people, be they from either local or centrally-run producers, must be alike. And he noted that officials should have an ambition and plan to further develop the factory.
Before leaving, he hoped that we would manage the factory properly and produce more quality foodstuffs so that it would be favoured by the people and serve them wholeheartedly.
Since then, our factory has made painstaking efforts to improve the quality of products and increase their variety, competing with the centrally-controlled counterparts.
In the course of this, dozens of new products have been developed and nine kinds of foodstuffs registered as February 2 Products. Last year alone, our products were awarded top prizes at different shows such as the spring national commodity exhibition and the light industry goods exhibition.
We are now producing hundreds of items of quality products, to the delight of consumers.
