Maybe for this reason, the Mirim Riding Club and the Mirim Aviation Club are busy providing service to the endless stream of visitors.

The Mirim Riding Club is popular as it gives people emotion, courage and a strong body.

In October 2013, the Mirim Riding Club was built as a comprehensive and modern facility equipped with all conditions and environment needed for riding exercise and education in the vast area of over 627 000 square metres, starting a craze for horse riding among the people.

The club consists of a room for the dissemination of riding knowledge, an indoor riding training ground, riding service centre, fatigue recovery centre, veterinary hospital, breeding institute and other buildings with its outer walls decorated like logs. It provides riding service in all four seasons.

Riding enthusiasts say that they get excited and feel an urge to ride to their heart’s content whenever they see the vast stretches of the riding course and galloping horses.

The highest stage of riding skill can be said to be the moment when the rider and horse become one.

The charm of running as one, keeping time both in mind and body with the horse running with the mane flying behind it, cannot be experienced without effort.

If the charm of the riding club is the running pleasure, that of the aviation club is the pleasure of flying in the air.

The Mirim Aviation Club, whose exterior design is modelled on a light plane, has a small runway for takeoff and landing of ultra-light aircraft, service centre, outdoor observation platform and others. It provides sightseeing flight service over Pyongyang.

"Visitors in flying suits swinging their arms as they walk along the runway with the flying helmet under their arms look like pilots leaving to fly a sortie,” smilingly says Ri Un Chong, a guide of the air service centre.

Even those brave people hardly conceal strain as they sit in the back seat of the plane.

Though most pilots say that when they are strained most when the plane lands, visitors who take their first flight say that the tensest moment is when the plane leaves the ground and rises in the air after running at high speed.

But when the plane flies across the vast azure sky, they are filled with great delight, opening their arms as if they were birds.

The number of customers markedly increases on holidays and rest days, but the efficient service organization of the aviation club satisfies the demand of customers.
