One October day in Juche 102 (2013), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of children’s hospital nearing completion.
After making the rounds of the hospital, he expressed great satisfaction at its successful construction, and said that it is an important project demonstrating the people-oriented public health policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the advantages of the socialist healthcare system.
He was so happy with the construction of another structure for children that he feasted his eyes on the hospital time and again. Deep in thought for a while, he suggested to the accompanying officials naming it Okryu Children’s Hospital .
Noting that the word “Okryu” means streaming crystal-clear water and symbolizes Pyongyang like the word “Ryugyong”, he underscored the need to make the nameplate of the hospital well so as to highlight its feature as a children’s hospital.
The name of the hospital represents his wish that children would grow up happily and lively.
