The Ryongsong Bearing Factory boasts afforestation and landscaping of high repute.
More than 3 500 trees of 40-odd species and flowers grow in harmony with production buildings in the compound.
The factory is surrounded by tall trees such as thuja, zelkova, fir and cryptomeria, with its compound full of apricot, plum, peach, apple and other fruit trees. There are more than 230 apricot trees and over 400 apple trees.
Employees are supplied with fruits from spring through to autumn.
Dozens of species of flowering plants, such as rose, Weigela subsessilis Bailey and redbud, add beauty to the environment of the factory.
Additionally, there are at least 230 hectares of forest in the factory’s charge, where more than 50 000 trees of good species including coniferous trees and oak trees are growing thick.
It is by no means easy to plant and cultivate all these plants while working.
“Fresh air and clean and beautiful environment inspire me to work harder,” said Kim Myong Sim, employee of the factory.
Pak Man Gyong, official of the factory, said that they map out an afforestation plan every year and carry it out by enlisting the efforts of the employees, with increasing forests and stronger attachment to the factory among them.
In February the factory was awarded the title of Forest of Socialist Patriotism, an honour given by the government.
