One January day in Juche 64 (1975), Chairman Kim Jong Il was about to come back from his inspection to a Korean People’s Army unit.
He was somewhat surprised to see his watch, and urged officials to hurry up.
It was 2 am.
The accompanying officials suggested having some rest before leaving.
He got on the car, however, saying that it is needed to arrive in Pyongyang till morning without fail and that they shouldn’t postpone the next day’s work as the night wears on. After some time, he checked his watch and asked the driver to speed up, saying it was already past 3 am. He urged the driver to hurry up.
The driver said that the road was all icy and dangerous, but the Chairman asked him to rev up the engine, saying that he values the time while on travel and often reads documents in the car and that revolutionaries must value and save the time.
After a moment, he added that it is time what he did and does need most and that he would hold the person in high esteem as an angel if he or she gives him more time.
