Recently, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated the following stand as regards the actions of the U.S. Department of Home Security which included three Chinese businesses on the “Uyghur Forced Labour Prevention Act” entity list on charges of forcing labour on the Uyghur people:
China strongly rejects and denounces the U.S. that once again fabricated and spread disinformation about Xinjiang and imposed illegal sanctions on Chinese businesses under the pretext of human rights.
Based on such lies, the U.S. railroaded draconian laws related to Xinjiang and included Chinese businesses on the relevant sanctions list. It is unduly interfering in China’s internal affairs, seriously undermining the regular market order, and grossly violating the international commercial regulations and the fundamental rules of international relations.
This, in essence, is an attempt to infringe upon the rights of the broad masses in Xinjiang to existence, employment and development behind the signboard of human rights by creating “forced unemployment” in the region.
If the U.S. is truly concerned about the human rights issue, then it shouldn’t interfere wantonly in other’s internal affairs and impose unreasonable sanctions. It should rather enforce measures to root out its chronic domestic problems like racial discrimination, gun violence, and drug abuse.
The spokesperson strongly demanded an end to interference in China’s internal affairs and infringement of China’s interests. He concluded by stressing that China will continue to take decisive measures to firmly defend the legitimate rights and interests of its businesses.
