National sci-tech presentation in field of hydrometeorology and oceanography held

A national sci-tech presentation in the field of hydrometeorology and oceanography took place at the State Hydro-Meteorological Administration between July 2 and 4 under the co-sponsorship of the Korean Society of Hydrometeorology and the Korean Society of Oceanography of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology ofKorea.
The presentation held under the theme of "The Field of Hydrometeorology and Oceanography Put on a Scientific and Modern Footing" was aimed at widely disseminating and generalizing the successes and experiences made in thoroughly ensuring the promptness, correctness and scientific accuracy of hydrometeorological forecast, minimizing the damages by disastrous abnormal weather such as typhoon, flood, drought and high temperature and putting the work of maritime field including tidal wave warning system on a scientific basis.
It was attended by officials, scientists and technicians of different units including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the State Hydro-Meteorological Administration and the State Academy of Sciences.
During the presentation, lectures were given on an automatic agricultural meteorological observer and a weather chart analogue search system using artificial intelligence technology.
