A joint meeting of war veterans and workers and trade union members took place at the Central Hall of Workers in Pyongyang on July 23 to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
When the victors of the great years came to the stage, the participants presented bouquets to them who defeated the US imperialist aggressors and their followers and displayed the dignity of the heroic Korean people.
Put on the stage of the meeting was the immortal hymn "Cantata to Marshal Kim Il Sung ", which sings of the ardent fascination and admiration of all the people for the illustrious commander of Mt Paektu who defeated the two formidable imperialist foes in his generation and won only great victories.
War veterans impressively talked about the history of the heroic struggle of the victorious wartime generation who won a miraculous victory to be recorded in the world history of wars by dedicating their lives to implementing the orders of President Kim Il Sung and defending even an inch of land of the beloved country.
The hall was echoed with wartime songs that instilled the invincible strength and courage into the brave soldiers of the Korean People's Army and redoubled their will to annihilate the enemy during the hard-fought war.
The war veterans handed over the DPRK flag to the working class of the new generation, earnestly requesting them to register only greater victories in the history of the country under the leadership of the great Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee.
Present at the meeting were Chairman Pak In Chol and officials of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and workers and trade union members in Pyongyang.
