The Tenth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was held from June 28 to July 1, Juche 113(2024) to coordinate and broaden in scope the short-, intermediate- and long-range plans for national rejuvenation and to promote their perfect implementation in a far-sighted way.

In order to successfully follow the orientation of state affairs and carry out all the tasks decided at the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, the plenary meeting reviewed the work in the first half of the year, set the main orientation of the work and policies of struggle for the second half of the year and discussed and decided on the important issues of practical significance in preserving the original features and people-oriented character of Korean-style socialism.

At the plenary meeting, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, referred to the successes achieved in the course of attaining the goals decided on at the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee and their factors and significance.

Another huge construction project for removing the centuries-old regional backwardness has been launched. Major industrial sectors related to the 12 major goals have carried out their monthly and quarterly plans without big deviations in the first half of the year. The huge irrigation project for this year has been completed in time on a nationwide scale, wheat and barley yields have increased compared to last year and transplanting of rice seedlings was completed in the right season. Remarkable successes are being made in the construction field one after another including the inauguration of Jonwi Street. A remarkable improvement has also been made in implementing the socialist policy for the students.

Witnessing all those successes, the Korean people keenly felt once again that they can do anything when they do only as instructed by Kim Jong Un.

At the plenary meeting Kim Jong Un said we should demonstrate the country's development capability and spirit of advance all over the world by successfully attaining the planned goals through a dynamic struggle in the second half of this year to provide a practical guarantee for implementing the decisions of the Eighth Party Congress with stronger confidence in our cause and the prospects of our struggle. And he brightly indicated the specific tasks and practical ways to conduct the work of developing the country's economy in a long-term, foresighted and methodological way including the issue on designing a clear-cut road map for increasing the executive ability to proactively improve economic management, working out a step-by-step plan, and then pushing ahead with the ensuing undertakings with a proper method and the issue on the leading role to be played by key industrial sectors in achieving significant innovative successes in 2024.

He stressed that the entire Party should wholeheartedly make redoubled efforts to spur the struggle for the second half of the year and make a vigorous advance in order to bring substantial changes and results, which our people who firmly believe in the true intentions of their Party and government as their own and painstakingly follow all their policies and plans whatever the difficulties and hardships, can feel with pride and pleasure this year, too.

All things he conceives and decides are reflected in the policies of the WPK and translated into the people's welfare.

The Korean people will glorify this year as a year of fresh changes to be specially recorded in the history of the country under the wise leadership of the WPK with the conviction that the leadership of the Party is precisely science, truth and victory.
