After the news that some parts in the city of Sinuiju and Uiju County in North Phyongan Province and in Jagang Province suffered damage from record downpour before and after July 27, aid materials are being sent to the special-class disaster emergency areas from across the country.
True to the intention of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea to stabilize the flood victims as soon as possible with primary attention paid to taking preventive and curative measures and providing them with living conditions, the Cabinet and state organs of economic guidance are meticulously organizing and commanding the transport for timely delivery of relief materials to the flood-stricken areas.
Ministries and national agencies sent large amounts of grains, non-staple foods and condiments.
The Ministry of Public Health dispatched officials in the preventive and curative sector to the afflicted areas so as to acquaint itself with the situations of medical equipment and medicines at the public health organs in the relevant areas. Meanwhile, it promptly put into operation the rapid mobile treatment teams and urgently sent them and medicines to the afflicted areas.
Citizens in the capital city of Pyongyang sent daily necessities to the flood victims with the feeling of taking care of their own brothers and sisters.
On the first day a large number of them vied with one another to render active support to the victims.
One of them is Kang Hye Suk, a woman living in Neighborhood Unit No. 41 in Jungsong-dong, Central District. Saying that she was moved to tears as she saw on TV the image of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un driving along flooded rough roads to see the victims, she prepared a large amount of aid materials and sent them to the special-class disaster emergency areas.
Many people in different parts of the country sent letters of sympathy and relief materials to the flood victims, saying that though they live in far-off areas, the victims are also members of the grand socialist family.
A resident in the city of Sariwon in North Hwanghae Province prepared a large quantity of aid materials with the money he kept for his family and sent them to the flood-hit areas, saying that he could not remain an onlooker when Kim Jong Un was so much concerned about the flood victims.
All the people in other parts of the country are devoting their sincerity for the victims.
