The green reinforcing agent for turf developed by the Architectural Science Institute at Pyongyang University of Architecture is drawing the interest of relevant units.
Turf occupies a great portion in landscaping.
As it covers the ground surface like a beautiful carpet, it is good for managing the living environment in a cultured and hygienic way and protecting the land. However, its drawback is that it turns yellow once it lacks in nutrition or contracts a disease.
In particular, it is susceptible to high temperature in summer.
Several units are conducting research to overcome this defect and thereby raise the ornamental effects of turf and increase its greening period.
The green reinforcing agent exerts a favourable influence upon turning yellow turf green and improving its nutritional status as it contains a balanced combination of essential nutritive elements, microelements and growth stimulants. Kim Hye Gyong, the main developer, said that it helps minimize the damage of turf by high temperature and ensure its survival rate on a high level.
The usage is as follows. Dilute one litre of the agent in 100 or 200 litres of water and spray the dilution on 100 square metres of turf from April to May, and in 50 litres of water from June to August.
“We have introduced the agent this year. It has prevented diseases like rust and root rot, further improving the survival rate of turf and helping keep turf green,” said employees of the Moranbong District Floricultural Station.
The agent has been introduced to several units, proving its advantages. As it gives practical help to landscaping, the demand for it is increasing.
