Miners from the Komdok Mining Complex, a leading non-ferrous mineral ore producer of the DPRK, have enjoyed another privilege to the delight of the people.
Much concerned about the health of the miners working in the deep pits of the Kumgol Mine, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ensured that seven miners including workteam leader Hero Ko Kyong Chan receive a general check-up and treatment at central hospitals in Pyongyang.
The miners were admitted to the Kim Man Yu Hospital to receive VIP treatment and advanced medical services from September 27 to October 28.
The hospital formed a task force comprised of competent medical workers, who made discussions about how to improve the miners’ health and applied immediate procedures according to the results of check-ups.
Technical assistance came from the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences Hospital, Ryugyong Dental Hospital, Ryugyong General Ophthalmic Hospital and other institutions.
Upon the news about the miners’ treatment, officials and working people from different units in Pyongyang paid visits to the hospital to share kindred feeling with them.
Before leaving Pyongyang in good health, the miners vowed they would work to increase ore production in order to repay the benevolence of the country.
Hero An Jong Min, who received a laparoscopic surgery during hospitalization for a disease he did not know he had, said that after he underwent an advanced surgery gratis he felt more keenly the benevolence of the socialist healthcare policy, adding that he would work harder for the good of the socialist country.
Meanwhile, during their stay in Pyongyang, medical teams from the Kim Man Yu Hospital, Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences Hospital and Pyongyang Maternity Hospital visited Komdok to provide services to the miners and their families.
