The Pyongyang Jonghyang Building-materials Factory works to share patented technologies with business partners.
Until a few years ago, the factory had a monopoly on patents for more than 10 kinds of building materials including paints, concrete additives and waterproofing materials.
Recently, it has adopted a new business approach to switch to sharing its patents with other units in line with the requirements of the rapidly developing cutting-edge science and technology.
This approach has helped other units producing building materials of the same kinds save much labour and cost for research and development and produce more high-quality products, bringing great benefits to the state.
Jong Ryong Su, manager of the factory, said that by sharing patents they have not only offset the R&D cost but also invested the money in new projects.
