The Ministry of Chemical Industry and other relevant unit have applied valuable innovation plans into production so as to strengthen the independent character of the country’s chemical industry.
The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex introduced a technology to refine the solution for carbon dioxide separation by means of ion exchange resin. In this way it provided a sure guarantee for increased fertilizer production by raising the output and efficiency in the refining process.
The complex has directed efforts to updating operational indices of the newly added equipment with the focus on further technical completion of the expanded gas filtering process and ensuring the safety of the general system and continuous production.
The Hungnam Fertilizer Complex has applied an effective method to use seawater as the cooling water. As a result, it keeps normal ammonia production with less cost, unaffected by seasonal and weather change.
Besides, the plan to replace the absorbent while the equipment is working was applied into production, a progress in increasing the hydrogen yield.
The February 8 Vinalon Complex is conducting the final-stage research to produce the fast-setting and anti-freezing agent with vinyl acetate compounds, and the Ponghwa Chemical Factory renovated a closed circulation system of cooling water into an open type, thus markedly decreasing oil consumption and raising the utility of thermal energy.
The officials and researchers at the chemical industry institute under the Ministry of Chemical Industry are also working hard to locally produce the essential oils greatly needed for cosmetics production.
