At the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that education is the first state affair that should be given priority and that demands tremendous effort at any time and at any stage and the most important sector that has to make steady progress.
To bring about a substantial change in cementing the foundation of education as discussed at the plenary meeting, this year the Ministry of Education will work out a detailed plan for renovating all the schools across the country in a short period and finish the construction of a new comprehensive educational equipment and materials factory.
To improve the quality of basic education in the general education sector, steadily raise the intellectual level of all students and further the qualifications of educators will be among the important tasks of the ministry.
The ministry will push forward various undertakings like those to narrow the gap between the town and the countryside in the education level and win the title of model county in educational work. In this way we will bring about a leap forward and change in the development of the country’s education.
