As it did in its whole course, the Korean revolution made progress last year in the face of manifold difficulties and trying ordeals.

Given the situation, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un led the unremitting advance and vigorous struggle for the prosperity of the country and people’s wellbeing by arousing the patriotic zeal of the whole population.

He visited the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace on January 1 last year to see the New Year performance given by schoolchildren and gave paternal affection to them. The following day he looked round a farm machine exhibition and some days later visited the newly built Kwangchon Chicken Farm.

Such inspection tours continued all the year round.

While he led gigantic construction projects for bringing cultured and happy life to the people as early as possible, the Kangdong Combined Greenhouse Farm, a new generation of greenhouse with much greater scale and production capacity than the previous ones, was built and Rimhung and Jonwi streets and modern rural houses sprang up across the country.

He gave his heart and soul to make the people enjoy benefits in real life, not through words or writing. His outstanding leadership and meticulous concern gave birth to socialist fairylands in the flood-stricken areas of North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces and the first entities of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy in South Phyongan Province’s Songchon County.

Towards the end of the year, he paid a visit to a Korean-style coastal resort in Myongsasimni, renowned as a scenic spot on the East Sea of Korea, to provide a blueprint for boosting the country’s tourism industry.

The steady growth of the overall national economy and the tangible achievements directly related to the public welfare owe much to the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Un .

In the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held late last year, he stressed the need to launch construction on a large scale in the new year, too, saying that in 2025 building 50 000 flats in Pyongyang should be wound up through the fourth-stage housing construction in the Hwasong area, the construction of houses in the Komdok area completed, and housing construction in the rural communities pushed ahead without letup. In particular, he noted, efforts should be channelled into the construction of industrial and public facilities to accelerate the great cause of regional rejuvenation, and, on the basis of the experience gained in the construction of the Sinpho City Offshore Farm, an offshore farm should be successfully built in another area on a trial basis.

Driving home again the true meaning of the slogan “Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!” he called on all the officials across the Party to shoulder the heavier duty and responsibility for the times and revolution and the country and people and wage a bolder struggle with higher confidence in the vanguard of the general offensive for great victory and glory in 2025.

The plenary meeting is a significant milestone that provided a firm guarantee for bringing the glory of 2024 replete with most valuable successes achieved with redoubled courage and vigour to continuous development and successes in 2025 so as to bring about the prosperity of the state and the people’s wellbeing without fail.

At present, the Korean people have turned out as one to implement the tasks set forth at the meeting.
