At the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of its Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held late last year, the WPK defined it as the way for putting the country’s agriculture on a stable and sustainable track of development to strengthen the material and technical foundations of the agricultural sector, attach importance to scientific farming, train in a systematic way the talents who will shoulder the implementation of the rural revolution programme in the new era and transformation of the socialist countryside.
The officials and workers of our farm are full of determination to glorify this year marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Party with increased grain production.
Last year our farm applied a large amount of fermented chemical fertilizers to hundreds of hectares of paddy field, thereby improving soil fertility. And it managed water in a scientific way according to the stage of growth of rice so as to improve the growth of its roots and its absorptivity of fertilizers. As a result it overfulfilled its quota of national plan for grain production for last year and produced many high-yielding workteams, sub-workteams and farmers.
The more sweat we shed, the more the land yields. The more sincerely we work on it, the more it pays off. This year, too, we will redouble our effort to reap a rich harvest without fail.
Last year’s weather conditions were very unfavourable. Regarding it as a fait accompli that this year, too, the country will be affected by unfavourable weather conditions, we will conduct in a scientific way all farming processes including the allocation of species, water management, manuring and application of additional fertilizer for the leaves. In this way we can have a rich harvest.
