It is four years since the Unjong Tea Factory was built.
According to Ryom Son Yong, manageress of the factory, it is now a global trend to produce tea on the basis of preserving its original flavour and its consumption continues to increase.
The factory is equipped with the lines for water purification, tea infusing, filtering and packaging, which are all highly automated and flow-lined.
“To produce tasty tea, the quality of tea leaves and water for infusing them should be good. The good quality of the water available in this area, where my factory is situated, has been known since olden times,” said Ri Pok Song, section chief of the factory.
The factory has directed major efforts to producing various kinds of tea which retains effective components of tea leaves to the maximum and fully meets quality indices such as colour, transparency and stability.
As a result, it is now producing green tea, Cholgwanum tea, black tea, apple green tea, pear Cholgwanum tea, and milk black tea. In the past it produced only three kinds of tea.
Unjong tea is rich in various pharmacological elements, essential amino acids and vitamins C and E. It helps to prevent arteriosclerosis, heart diseases, hypertension and cardiomegaly, treat diabetes and other diseases, ensure good heart activity, relieve fatigue, retard ageing, urinate smoothly, detoxify the body and fight cancer.
The demand for Unjong tea which is unique in taste and aroma and good for health is on the increase day by day.
