On its sacred journey of fulfilling the noble duty of national defense and realizing the lofty ideal of overall national development, the Korean People’s Army (KPA) is marking its 77 th founding anniversary fully demonstratingwith its prestige of as a powerful army fully demonstrated.

On February 8, 1948, the first military ranks of our regular revolutionary armed forces raised stormy cheers of “hurrah” looking up to the great President Kim Il Sung . Since that historic day, the KPA has developed into an invincible elite revolutionary army which inherited the traditions of the anti-Japanese guerrillas under the great guidance of the peerless great men.

During the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953) when the destiny of the country was at stake due to the armed invasion of the U.S., the heroic KPA remained true to the Juche-based military idea and line, and operational plan of President Kim Il Sung . By displaying boundless loyalty, bravery and patriotism, it dealt a decisive blow to the enemy’s enemy’s numerical and technological advantage with its politico-ideological, strategic and tactical edge. Thus, it created an unprecedented legend of war victory and displayed to the whole world the might of heroic KPA.

Chairman Kim Jong Il put forth the idea of modelling the entire army on Kimilsungism as the general objective of army-building and gave guidance to ensure that the People’s People’s Army assumes its natural appearance flawlessly as the army of the leader and the Party in name and reality. He also raised the KPA into a-match-for-a hundred revolutionary army strong in ideology and faith, fully embodying the spirit of devotedly defending the leader and ardent patriotism.

As the KPA upholds in high esteem respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , it demonstrates to the full its dignity and might of an invincible strong army, displaying limitless absolute power and huge rapid development.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un advanced the idea of further strengthening the KPA as an army politico-ideologically strong and morally sound advancing under the uplifted banner of modeling the whole army on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. He developed the KPA into an invincible revolutionary army fully embodyingarmed with our Party’s Juche-oriented military idea and tactics.

Under his outstanding leadership, the KPA is displaying its might as an invincible army perfectly equipped with strong material measures capable of defeating all kinds of enemies and as a powerful elite army of revolution with formidable strikinge power and overwhelming military strength capability that can surely overpower all sorts of tyranny war racket of the imperialists.

As it has done so for the past 77 years, the heroic KPA will reliably safeguard the dignity and greatness of our powerful state for our country’s eternal peace and prosperity, bearing in mind the immutable fact that the Party’s ideas and decisions are science and truth.
