Regional-industry factories were inaugurated on January 8 in Sukchon County, South Phyongan Province.
The county mostly consisting of plains is called a granary in the western part of the country.
The new factories produce foodstuffs, daily necessities and clothes, showcasing the fresh development of the regional industry.
“The factories in our county were the third of their kind to be inaugurated in the country,” said Kim Sun Dok, department head of the County People’s Committee. “Seeing their unique appearance and modernity, the local residents are now confident they can create a rosier future on this land by their own efforts.”
The Sukchon County Foodstuff Factory turns out a dozen of products including wheat and soybean paste, soy sauce, sweets, biscuits, bread, corn syrup, soya milk and cooking oil, which are all made with locally available raw materials.
It is working to produce bar rice cake, fruit juice and various pickled fish products as local specialities, in keeping with its regional feature of locating in plains with both mountainous and coastal areas.
The Sukchon County Garment Factory is directing all its work to designing and making diverse styles to meet the tastes of the county population.
Designers pay attention to conceiving a variety of styles suitable for occupations and ages of customers and making various kinds of clothes for all seasons. They plan to present their products to the costume shows to be held in the province and the capital.
The Sukchon County Daily Necessities Factory makes laundry soap, plastic pipes and containers, and wooden pieces. Employees said that as their factory is fully equipped with modern facilities, work is enjoyable and precision is ensured in production.
At present, the regional-industry factories in the county strive to raise the quality of their products made with locally available raw and other materials so that they can be favoured by the inhabitants.
