A ceremony of awarding the February 16 Science and Technology Prize, the Natural Science Prize, the Technical Invention Prize, the State Best Scientist and Technician Certificate and the Best Inventor Prize in 2024 was held at the People's Palace of Culture on February 26.
Present there were Choe Tong Myong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Sung Guk, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet, Kim Song Bin, Chairman of the State Commission of Science and Technology, officials concerned, scientists and technicians.
A decision of the Non-Permanent Council of February 16 Science and Technology Prize was announced at the awarding ceremony.
Diplomas and medals of February 16 Science and Technology Prize were awarded to five project tasks, a diploma of Natural Science Prize to one project task and diplomas of Technical Invention Prize to five project tasks that made a contribution to the economic development of the country and the improvement of the people's living, along with prizes.
Certificates of February 16 Science and Technology Prize were awarded to more than 70 officials, scientists, technicians and teachers of those units that participated in carrying out the project tasks.
Certificates of Natural Science Prize were awarded to eight officials, researchers and postgraduate students of Kim Il Sung University and certificates of Technical Invention Prize to over 50 officials, scientists, technicians and teachers of different units including Kim Chaek University of Technology and the Taean Heavy Machine Complex.
Best scientists and technicians of the state in 2024 were selected at the ceremony.
The Best Inventor Prize in 2024 and prizes were awarded.
