A delegation of the Security Council of the Russian Federation led by Secretary Sergei Shoigu on a visit to the DPRK laid a wreath before the Liberation Tower on March 21.
Present there were Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Jong Gyu, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.
The guard of honour of the Korean People’s Army lined up at the tower.
The national anthems of the Russian Federation and the DPRK were played.
A wreath in the name of the secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation was placed before the Liberation Tower amid the playing of wreath-laying music.
The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army before looking round the tower.
