On March 23, 2021, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un attended the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of 10 000 flats in Pyongyang and made his historic speech. Since then, Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, has proudly taken its own unique form and grown into a world-class civilized city with beautiful socialist streets built one after another for the people, according to the scheduled time set by the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The past four-year-long grand construction process was carried out with redoubled efforts and hard work while bearing a grand ideal and a noble sense of duty in mind. Its history is embedded with the inexhaustible leadership activities of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who personally mapped out the plan for building 50 000 flats and devoted his all for its realization.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave instructions to build Songhwa Street and turn it into a revolutionary entity which shows the capital’s new and developed image as the first-year task in the construction target of 50 000 flats set forth by the Party Congress. He then guided to build Hwasong Street by learning from the shortcomings seen and lessons gained during the construction of Songhwa Street so that it will become a more civilized socialist street.

When Hwasong Street construction began, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un looked at the housing arrangement plans and bird’s eye view of the street despite his busy schedule. He put all his heart and soul into building a unique street representing the times assuming the aspect of a modern city section.

Though he worked day and night without rest to make sure Songhwa Street and Hwasong Street are erected as new streets symbolizing the civilization and prosperity of the state, he again visited the construction site of the nearly-completed Hwasong Street. That day, he earnestly said that the construction of housing is the most crucial task that provides the people with beautiful homes of happiness. He also said that the construction should be finished flawlessly with quality until the finishing touches so the buildings will not stand inferior to anything even in the distant future.

As seen, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un carried out a vast large-scale construction project to give the people the most splendid and civilized living conditions. Through his commitment and hard work, idyllic streets such as Songhwa Street, Jonwi Street, Kyongru-dong and Hwasong Street have sprouted up on this land attracting everyone’s admiration.

With no doubt, the idea and plans of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un are all steered towards bringing happiness and joy to the people. As each step in his revolutionary leadership is preceded by his dedication to the people, Pyongyang will transform more beautifully day after day.
