Medical workers at the Thoracic Surgery Department of Kim Man Yu Hospital have made successes in treating patients.
Months ago, Kim Kyong Guk, a worker at the Sadong District Post Office, was rushed to the hospital for severe burns.
His conditions were so severe that his resuscitation seemed almost impossible.
Department chief Ri Kwang Chol and his staff held emergency consultative meetings several times, saying that no matter how severe the case was, they must save the patient if there was one percent of possibility.
They chose an optimized surgical procedure and then immediately performed operation. The operation was a success.
Nurses observed the patient day and night following postoperative drug administration, and when he developed abnormal symptoms, they took prompt appropriate measures on the orders of doctors.
More than 130 days passed.
When he left the hospital, Kim Kyong Guk said with deep emotion that he could be saved thanks to the sincere efforts of the medical workers at the thoracic surgery department.
There are many other similar stories.
Once Ryu Un Ha, a woman living in Tongdaewon District, slipped into a coma due to acute purulent mastitis, postpartum sepsis, systemic toxicodermatitis and shock. But they also cured her by devoting sincere efforts.
Still, they are devotedly working day and night to ensure that the people can enjoy the benefits of the socialist healthcare system in a more substantial way.
