The Korea Garment Industry Association is undertaking brisk activities to foster the nation’s clothing culture onto a higher level.
The association whose mission is to provide unified technical guidance to the country’s garment industry is mainly engaged in sci-tech and promotional activities aimed to preserve the national tradition and develop the Korean-style clothing culture and garment processing technology as suited to the status of a highly civilized socialist country.
It also helps garment production units at all levels address technical problems in designing, cutting and processing in time so that they can turn out a large quantity of various styles of clothes suited to the sentiment of the Korean people and modern aesthetic tastes.
The association embraces excellent designers, manufacturers, university teachers and researchers across the country who are involved in designing and promotion.
“We hold several consultative meetings every year to discuss various matters concerning the clothing culture and decide on tasks relevant units are to carry out,” said Yun Hong Gil, deputy secretary general of the association.
The successful work of the association has been showcased by recent clothes shows.
The association has sponsored five national clothes shows since Women’s Clothes Exhibition-2022, giving impetus to the development of modern garment processing technology and designing and the establishment of new showing and serving methods. In the period, more than 20 000 modern designs that suit the tastes and sentiment of the people have been created with over 400 000 pieces of goods produced.
The event held every spring and autumn serves as a good occasion in sharing and disseminating technology and inspiring many manufacturers across the country to develop their processing skills rapidly.
