A new kind of audio and illustrated book developed by the Children’s Intelligence Educational Books Research Institute of the Educational Books Publishing House is gaining popularity among children and parents.
“That evening when I bought this book my husband disapprovingly said I might be so impatient to give intelligence education to my toddling girl,” said Choe Jong Sim, a resident in Tongan-dong No. 2, Central District, Pyongyang. “But as she opened the book and enjoyed it imitating the dialogue and following lines from the book by herself, he admired it saying it is a good book that fills up the space of the working parents.”
The book consists of 81 volumes. When you touch a letter or picture on the page with a finger, the text is automatically read out and the dialogue and sound effects sound from the smart phone, so that a child can easily understand the contents of the book.
The key of the audio book is the reading app Chinhan Tongmu .
If you choose a book on the screen of the app-loaded smart phone and touch the start button before fixing the phone on a stand, the camera will sense and activate the sound of the finger-pointed letter or picture.
The audio book greatly helps the children have a fast and correct understanding of the contents by stimulating their sense of sight, hearing and touch.
“We’ll develop more such books that are suited to children’s tastes and helpful for their study in keeping with the global trend of educational development and educational requirements,” said Jang Tae Gil, key developer and chief of the institute.
