Over the past 10 or so years the DPRK has produced a large number of women patriots including more than 80 heroines and thousands of meritorious persons of socialist patriotism.
While playing an important role in the revolution as masters of the times, many women have been honoured with Order of Kim Il Sung , Order of Kim Jong Il , Kim Il Sung Prize, Kim Jong Il Prize, titles of DPRK Heroine and Labour Heroine, and became deputies to people’s assemblies, meritorious persons of socialist patriotism, doctor’s degree holders and Communist Mother Honour Prize winners.
Among the 80-odd heroines are scientists who made remarkable achievements conducive to the country’s scientific development, a merited breeder who has devotedly worked at the Central Zoo since her maidenhood, an official of a factory who showed tender heart to parentless young employees to make them pillars of the factory and athletes who showed themselves in international competitions to bring glory to the country and fly the national flag on foreign soil.
Many women officials and workers have grown to be deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly, thousands of women have been honoured with the title of meritorious person of socialist patriotism, over 400 women have been awarded doctor’s degree, and at least 600 women have been awarded honorary titles in recognition of their wholehearted services to the prosperity of the country.
Communist mothers are in the vanguard of the role models.
More than 40 women have been awarded the Communist Mother Honour Prize since the institution of the prize.
Twenty ordinary women won the prize at the Fifth National Conference of Mothers for their unassuming services to their families, younger generation and country and their contribution to making the lineage of the revolution and the baton of succession carried on. Last year over 20 women were honoured with the prize.
The foundation of the country is rock solid as it has an increasing number of such revolutionaries and patriotic mothers with such a view of life and motherly love that they should place the country before their families and bring up their children to be upright persons.
More and more women are eager to live a patriotic life by supporting the country unassumingly.
