Everywhere in the DPRK there are true patriots of the times who are putting their heart and soul into afforestation.
With a patriotic mind of valuing the forest of their country, the forest ranger in charge of the Songsan area at the Jangphung County Forestry Management Station in Kaesong, and his family members, have devoted themselves to grow it. They have made a positive contribution to turning their village into a beautiful land by cultivating many saplings of trees such as Larix leptolepis .
The forest ranger in charge of Ryongsong-ri at the Anbyon County Forestry Management Station in Kangwon Province has devoted his all to afforestation. Over decades he has produced many saplings every year in a hectare of nursery he had built, contributing to afforestation efforts.
Following in the footsteps of his father, who was hououred to be the first merited forest ranger in the country, a ranger at the Unsan County Forestry Management Station in North Phyongan Province and his family are devoting their efforts to patriotic work to carry on the traits of their family. This shows the noble patriotic spirit of the Korean people.
The Ichon County Forestry Management Station in Kangwon Province, the Kyongsong County Forestry Management Station in North Hamgyong Province and many other units have produced patriotic families who win public admiration and respect for their devotion with pure conscience.
Among those who devote themselves to afforestation are also old people, women and schoolchildren.
Thanks to their ardent loyalty and patriotic enthusiasm, more than 1.6 million hectares of forests have been created across the country over the past decade, with well over 9 500 units awarded the title of Forest of Socialist Patriotism.
An increasing number of patriots are playing their part in the ongoing movements to win the titles of Forest of Socialist Patriotism and Model County in Afforestation.
