A show of products of regional-industry factories newly built in 20 cities and counties took place in Pyongyang from April 22 to 26.
The show was aimed at steadily improving the quality of the products with the people’s demands and assessments as an absolute criterion and creating a climate of competing in development in all the regions while sharing and generalizing advanced technologies and experience and thus dynamically promoting the qualitative development of regional industry.
Those regional-industry factories presented 439 kinds of products in 21 categories, including condiments with wheat as the main raw material, confectionery, processed marine products, laundry soaps, plastic daily necessities, furniture and garments.
The show gave scientific and objective appraisal of products through analysis of quality indices, examination of experts, etc.
Quality control institutions and scientific research institutes analysed the quality indices, including hygienic and nutritional indices of products.
Senior Party and government officials, officials of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chief secretaries of the provincial Party committees and officials of Party and power organs of 20 cities and counties acquainted themselves in detail with the quality of the products and appreciated the level of improved quality of products of those regional factories while comparing the tastes of foodstuffs.
Officials and employees of the regional-industry factories who participated in the show explored practical ways to improve the quality of products while sharing successes and experience gained in normalizing production and improving quality.
Products of Songchon and Jaeryong counties were highly appreciated at the show.
Foodstuffs like processed fish and condiments of Onchon and Sukchon counties, which have gained good experience in offshore farming and the production of processed wheat products, are on a par with products of the famous light industrial factories in the capital city in terms of quality indices.
Unchon County also presented various kinds of household goods to draw public interest.
Decided at the show were rankings of cities and counties which distinguished themselves in implementing the Party policy on setting it as the first task to improve the quality in the light industry sector and putting efforts into improving the quality of the condiments and essential consumer goods.
During the show, there took place a short course on the policy issues arising in actively developing and utilizing the natural and economic resources of the regions, and the issue of putting the production and management activities at regional-industry factories on a scientific basis.
