A show of products of newly-built regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties took place in Pyongyang from April 22 to 26.
The show was aimed at steadily improving the quality of the products with the people's requirements and assessments as an absolute criterion and establishing a competitive development climate in all the regions while sharing and generalizing advanced technologies and experience and thus dynamically promoting the qualitative development of regional industry.
Those regional-industry factories presented 439 varieties of products in 21 kinds, including condiments with wheat as the main raw material, confectionery, processed marine products, laundry soaps, plastic daily necessities, furniture and garments.
The show gave scientific and objective appraisal of products through analysis of quality indices, examination by experts, and others.
Decided at the show were the rankings of cities and counties which distinguished themselves in implementing the policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea on setting it as the first task to improve the quality in the light industry sector and putting efforts into improving the quality of the condiments and essential consumer goods.
During the show, there took place a short course on the policy issues arising in actively developing and utilizing the natural and economic resources of the regions, and the issue of putting the production and management activities at regional-industry factories on a scientific basis.
