Any visitors to the endodontology department of the Ryugyong Dental Hospital say that they feel pleased when they go there.
They are deeply moved by the pleasing manner of its medical workers. Moreover, the medical workers always give correct diagnosis and treat the patients with kindred affection.
Chief Ri Un Ju and other medical workers of the department pay special attention to giving less pain to the patients suffering from caries, pulpitis and other dental disorders.
They adopt a variety of treatment methods appropriate for different physical constitutions of patients.
They also actively apply Koryo medicines to the treatment.
“We use traditional Koryo medicines as well as modern medicines in treating lichen planus and other obstinate oral mucosal diseases. Koryo medicine is much better than Western medicine in terms of recurrence and side effect,” said Jon Un Hui, PhD, associate professor and a doctor of the department.
Shortly ago Ri U Hak, an 89-year-old resident in Tongmun-dong No. 2, Taedonggang District, Pyongyang, visited the department. After closely examining him they concluded that he developed acute pulpitis and, on the basis of this, they applied an appropriate treatment method. The treatment was so successful that he expressed his gratitude repeatedly, shaking hands with the medical workers.
