The Jangjin building parts manufactory under the Ryokpho District construction brigade in Pyongyang was organized only three years ago, but has taken upon itself the responsibility for the production and supply of building parts needed for rural construction in the district.
The manufactory produces over a dozen kinds of quality building parts including various types of doors, furniture, flowerpot stand, dressing table and shoe chest.
“The secret of success is that we have trained talents with great efforts,” said manageress Ri Hyang Mi.
According to her, the manufactory had only three skilled workers in the beginning.
It assigned them to the suitable processes so that they could pass on techniques to low-skilled workers in workplaces. And it arranged technical classes regularly every week. Particularly, it highly praised and gave preferential treatment to employees who markedly improved their technical knowledge and skills by making strenuous efforts, even if they were newcomers, in order to heighten their will to work. And it took advantage of several occasions to wake up those who marked time with too much pride in their abilities and skills.
It also directed efforts to introducing advanced technical innovation plans into production on the occasion of several sci-tech festivals related to building parts. As a result, most of its employees possessed high technical knowledge and skills and successes in technical innovation increased day by day, making it possible for it to achieve high growth in production.
For example, it built a light burned magnesia fixture production process relying on locally available raw materials 100 percent and normalized the production.
In the past the manufactory encountered lots of difficulties in the production of fixtures due to the shortage of timber.
To overcome this serious situation and increase production stably it invented and introduced a new mode of production by applying advanced technology in collaboration with scientific research units and improved the quality of light burned magnesia fixtures. As a result, it put production on a normal footing without suffering from the shortage of raw materials.
As it is fully equipped with modern and efficient timber processing facilities, now it produces any type of building parts and its production capacity has also grown larger than before.
“Our goal is to produce building parts with a world competitive edge while continuously improving their quality,” said Ri.
