Amid growing public interest in industrial designs, many people are joining in their creation.
Their enthusiasm has been gaining momentum since the Kumsugangsan Industrial Design Company launched the platform Kumsugangsan two years ago.
The platform has an important item concerning industrial design prize contest in which you can access to the information on the prize contest and browse, post and assess the submitted designs.
According to Ri Chung Bok, director of the company, the prize contests have been held for dozens of units since the establishment of the platform.
Before the launch of the platform, only experts were allowed to participate in such events. But after its establishment, a large number of amateurs, together with experts, have taken part in the contests and the number of presented designs has increased from dozens to tens of thousands. More than 80 percent of the appreciated designs have been created by amateurs, including young students and the elderly.
Many production units welcome the new mode, saying that it is really a good way as it helps them quickly single out the best one from among a number of different designs.
From last year, the contest has been held in a fresh way. Experts and amateurs form a team for mutual cooperation and collective creation, regardless of their social position, age and creative level, unlike its previous mode marked by individual creation.
“The broad masses’ enthusiasm for creating industrial designs stimulates the development of the country’s economy and the improvement of the people’s standard of living while raising their cultural standards,” said Ri.
