A march ceremony of columns of symbolic units in the period of the Fatherland Liberation War took place in the capital city of Pyongyang on the evening of the 27th on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of war victory.

The plaza of the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium, where the celebrations will be held, were crowded with capital citizens who gathered to see the ceremony.

The rostrum was taken by leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs together with war veterans.

It was also taken by chief secretaries of the provincial committees of the Workers' Party of Korea and commanders of the large combined units of the Korean People's Army.

Invited to the celebrations were diplomatic representatives and staff members of missions of different countries in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Seen at stands were the participants in the celebrations of the 72nd anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, officials of the Central Committee of the WPK, service personnel of the People's Army including the officers and men of the artillery sub-unit under the 4th Corps of the Korean People's Army who were invited as special guests to the celebrations of the V-Day, officials of ministries and national agencies, officials and meritorious persons in the city of Pyongyang, students of the revolutionary schools and youth and students.

A combined band performed military music with lilting melody and peculiar virtuosity.

A bugle call for the start of march was sounded and the march started with the column symbolic of bodyguards company carrying a portrait of the ever-victorious, iron-willed brilliant commander Kim Il Sung in the van.

The marchers were carrying portraits of the bodyguards of the first generation of the powerful revolutionary army, passionate loyalists who became a strong bullet-proof wall defending the supreme headquarters, the destiny of Korea.

Passing by the square were the columns symbolic of legendary guards divisions that performed distinguished feats in the three-year hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War, flying the colours of guards units which had been fluttered at the square of military parade made in commemoration of war victory.

Seen in the front rows of the columns of symbolic units were a portrait of the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter Kang Kon who was the first Chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, and portraits of those who rendered distinguished services to the nation building. There were also portraits of the wartime heroes and heroines including a human-bomb hero who threw himself into the enemy camp with a hand grenade in his mouth.

The columns of symbolic units were followed by the columns of the three services of the KPA marching with dignity.

A flying corps of the Air Force of the KPA in the formation of fan shape passed through the sky over the plaza, decorating the end of the celebrations wonderfully.

After the ceremony, beautiful fireworks were set off in the night sky of the V-Day.
